E600 Question

Will E600 glue work to attach siding to a dollhouse in lieu of hot glue? I've already been warned against using white glue because it will apparently warp the outer walls of the dollhouse.

I've always used quick grip :)

Kat, I think that quick grip and fast grab are about the same. I use Aileen's Fast Grab. White glue doesn't warp unless you are doing a whole wall. Just the edges shouldn't be a problem. Just be sure to clamp or tape it. I used Elmer's plain old white glue for many years. I used to get it by the gallon from where my dad worked and leave it open on purpose to thicken it. I like the Fast Grab because I don't have to do that anymore. In fact, if you aren't careful about closing the bottle you will lose it to drying out.

I wouldn't advise using E-6000(You are missing a 0 LOL) because it is mainly for bonding two different materials. It is really strong and stinks to high heaven! I use it to do jewelry and other metal and stone applications. It is also realllly messy and doesn't hold as well until it is dry because it is really ment for small jobs.

Now you know more than you ever wanted to about how I feel about glues. And I didn't even get into the subject of Super Glue! Don't ask......

Thanks, ladies! This is exactly what I needed to know. :-)

I was told to NEVER use hot glue in a dollhouse. It will dry out and fall apart after a period of time. I used Weldbond plus for my frame, walls, shingles - anything that needed a strong bond. I use Lepages No More Nails for wood pieces that are lighter like the stairs and furniture. I use Creative Fabric glue for material, Aileene's Jewel-It for metal or beads, Aleene's ClearGel Tacky for food items and Original Tacky for just about everything else. I also used a lot of masking tape to hold the items tight together until the glue has really set. As you can tell - I am a glue person!!!!

I was suspicious of the directions saying to use hot glue on the siding (only the siding though) since hot glue can become soft again. Especially if I ever get to move home to the desert...
