Slightly More Productive and the Boys

I managed to make it to the couch with some stitching in hand. Does anyone out there remember the Anasazi Rug pattern that was featured in the July 1999 DHM? Well, that's what won.

Here's the picture from the magazine:

Here's where I am so far:
It's worked on 18-count Aida with 6 strands of floss. Almost wished I had started with pearle cotton given the consistency of the floss. But the last couple of days have been about experimentation and learning. So this fits. It doesn't look bad so far.

At least this way I have actual needlework for the sewing circle gathering this Saturday. Between this and the mattresses, there won't be a glue bottle in reach! A rarity for me at sewing circle. ;-)

Oh and since it was brought up, here's a picture of Pollux. This boy loathes the camera but I managed to get this one when he thought he would get a treat. It's really one of the better ones he has even taken. He has his father's size and a random grandparent's coloring. It's hard to fathom, but Castor used to be the same size. Here's Castor from this past December, before we knew he was really sick. Even here he is skinnier than Pollux.
Every vet we've seen says Pollux looks like a classic Siamese and Castor looks more like a Snowshoe cat. I think they're onto something. ;-)

Best wishes to you Kat. I'm experiencing same feeling. I'm dragging from bed to sofa with all lights off and shutters closed. the old bitch ( migraine) has come back to see me. She is coming too often now! a good hug to you. BTW the mattress is very good I've done one with thinner fabric but yours is much better.

I hope that you and Castor both feel better! It's no fun being under the weather. It was nice of Pollux to come out so that we could see him. BTW, I started feeding my cats the food that you use. The seem to like it a lot.

I can hardly wait to see the rug when you're finished, the picture from the magazine is beautiful. Have you seen the little Weavette looms? That would make neat mini rugs, I've got a couple and they're really fun.

Karen: I've seen them but I've never gotten a chance to play with one. I bet they'd be good for bedspreads too. Hmmm....
