I may have mentioned some of Tempie's story before, but in case you missed it:
Tempie was found hopping around my sister's neighborhood one summer evening. The vet said it was very likely that someone had gotten tired of their "Easter bunny" and dumped her. She's been with me ever since.
I've never been a fan of giving live animals as gifts, especially to young children. And watching the explosion of rabbits dumped outside or at local pounds a few weeks after Easter is both sad and frustrating. So I decided to start supporting the group "Make Mine Chocolate" in their efforts to educate people about living with rabbits, among other things. If you are interested in what they do, here is a link to their website.
So in the spirit of chocolate, Tempie's story, and just plain fun I'm going to have a giveaway for this chocolate, a bunny statue that looks like chocolate, and some miniature surprises. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post by 6:00pm CST on Wednesday, March 24th. If you leave a fun bunny/other pet story, I'll put your name in the hat twice. Oh and make sure I have a way to contact you, so you can get your treats! :-)
I will put everyone's name into a container and have Tempie pull out the winner that night and let everyone know. I'm hoping to have the goodies arrive in time for Easter weekend.
Good luck, everyone!

I can't believe someone dumped Tempie. She's a cute little Rabbit. Mind you we found one under our car at our last place. Luckily we was able to reunite it, with its owner. Someone hadn't locked the hutch.

I cannot believe someone dumped their bunnies out in the streets or in the pounds either! That is really sad. I am glad Tempie has a good home now.
When I take my doggy to Pets at Home to get him his monthly food we always have to visit the rabbits ha ha! He is like a child but furry. He also likes going to the Cotswold wildlife park you can take your dogs there but I not sure about rabbits ha ha ha!
This very sweet rabbit.
The story I have to tell is that I have 3 dogs, a poodle, a pug and has now reached a yorkshire, which is a terror, not let anyone throw you walk in, only after she sleeps the other can sleep
Tempie is so lucky to have found a wonderful home. My son had a similar looking but miniature bunny. We enjoyed her for years. Babs was also a performer in his magic shows! Beautiful eyes. I completely support make mine chocolate, we have hundreds of bunnies hoping around the university grounds.
Tempie was a lucky bunnie. We have 4 bunnies, Little Geoff, Patch, Jerry and Piglet. Piglet was a runt has bent legs but shes a bugger to catch LOL. Our longest lived bunny was Smokey who was a Netherland Dwarf and passed away when he was 11. I cant stand it when peeps dump pets and we have over the years took in many waifs.

Tempie is a lucky bunny and gorgeous too! I have 2 bunnies left now,I had 7 once, 2 of those rescued . Angel was the funniest, she loved to toss plant pots into the air and you would often find her sitting with one on her head :0)
She would never sit on the ground if she could sit on another bunny and would never sit on one bunny if she could sit on two !! we miss her :0)

I have always love bunnies but have only had one, a sweet little black one I bought at the fair when I was a teenager. I had her in what I thought was a very secure pen but my little dog of undetermined parentage but very terrier in habits found a way to get inside. I haven't had the heart to try again since....
It makes me so angry when people do this i have six cats and four rabbits six out of the ten fur babies i have are rescues one rabbit was left in the boot/trunk of a car on a warm day i just cant handle it when people do this anyway im glad you rescued this poor little rabbit at least he has a safe home now. sorry for ranting i just love animals i have some pictures of my gorgeous fur babies on my blog

Tempie is a cute bunny and lucky to have found such a great home. I've had lots of different pets but never a bunny. My neighbors used to raise them.
Tempie's adorable! People that kick animals to the curb, suck. Our youngest cat, Sofie, was literally thrown in a dumpster with her 3 brothers when they were brand new... Sofie meowed the loudest and attracted some kind soul's attention, right as the trash truck was nearing... The person took the 4 kittens to 2nd Chance Pet Adoption, where they were taken care of, until they were adopted.
I didn't know Tempie's story, so lucky that she lives with you now!
My mom and I found an abandoned springel spaniel, can you believe that! He's a very happy member of my parent's dog family now. :)
Thank you for this giveaway.

So glad you reminded us of this giveaway, I had missed it. So glad you found little Tempie! I'm not a fan of giving animals for holidays either.
I have some funny stories about animals--mainly ones about my late mother who disliked animals in general and was afraid of most dogs but ended up saving at least four different animals from choking or suffocation in her life.
But my SIL, who now has my FIL's parrot, 'Bad Boy', was just telling us that had left his cage open while she was out one afternoon. Her hyper teenaged daughter, Anna Grace, walked in and Bad Boy was on the floor walking around. He started AG and she screamed and he followed suit, screaming back. Then she yelled, "Mamma! Mamma!" as Bad Boy can bite if anyone he doesn't want to tries to handle him. And Bad Boy also screamed out, "Mamma! Mamma!" So funny!

Thanx for the reminder or Id have missed this post, I usually run late just like the stereotypical white rabbit, in fact Tempie's cute.... She just needs a fobwatch and a waistcoat LOL its mean that anyone would do just dump a Bunny :o( but their loss is your gain :o)
I have a chook keeping friend who had someone just dump a box of chickens outside her house, maybe if I leave a note on her front gate they might leave them at mine?
