First is one of the modified shirts for FH to wear. The buttons and pocket were cut off and the front sewn shut. I did one for LittleD too, but he was really good at hiding this weekend. I still have a shirt for each of them left to modify.

Here's the first bag I made for FH. It fits his mallet and other long tools for leather projects. The green fabric is wool from a coat I found at Goodwill for $0.50 and cut up. Gotta love summer dealts on winter items!

That's all for now. I need more canvas before I can do any more bags. I have fabric for a shirt and a long-sleeved waistcoat for FH but I don't have the patterns yet. I do have fabric for an apron of my own and a new petticoat. My friend, Donna, has the patterns and the plan is to cut them out next week.
I'm going to get back to minis for a while. I was sick of sewing before I started. ;-)
Oh before I forget, I bought FH a present from a trader at the 'Vous:

Kat you are so clever at sewing!! I wish I were half as good as you. I love your minis as well. Big hugs
ReplyDeleteYou guys are so cool! I love renaissance festivals. I wish I could go to one... I remmeber going to one when I was a little kid and it as my kinda scene.
ReplyDeleteKat you are so resourceful and I love seeing all the things you have made.

Oh Kat! I love that tool organizer you made! So inventive to sew the pockets with the stuff in place!! :)
ReplyDeleteKat, your friends & hubby are so lucky! Those things you made are way cool, man! :) I really love love love "tool holders". I think I am a man when it comes to loving hardware. The pieces of tools look so good in your leather pockets. Yes, I love em more than cooking wares and needles. By the way, is the mystery "bundle" a tea cosy? That's my guess.
ReplyDeleteKat, I figured out in general what the bundle was. I make holders for my knitting needles and sometimes colored pencils like that. You did it really well. I never made a flap to fold down over the top so the tools wouldn't fall out. Great idea! Looking good. You must have found a camera cord somewhere?LOL
ReplyDeleteYou are such a talented seamstress! The horn is so beautiful- and to be able to see how much powder is left must be very useful! I would just sit and look at it though- it's like a piece of art!
ReplyDeleteI love the tool holder! When I saw it, my guess was close. This is because years ago I make something similar for my DH to hold his metric wrenches. He still uses it. I made the tie for his out of bias tape I had folded over and sewn shut, and I tacked it to the tool holder near one end of the roll. It isn't pretty, but it is functional.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about being sick of sewing before you started. That happens to me too, but then there are times that I can't stop because I am having too much fun.
Ooo - I love that tool roll. Nice and clean :)
